Bearing False Witness

Too often now it is considered par for the course, the language of politicians, to say what you want to hear, say what is not true but say it with confidence. Since the truth is not held with much esteem, and people think that the end justifies the means, even an opponents character is fair game without proofs or facts. People answer the lack of evidence or the reason for stepping away from rule of law, you know the old way of handling things where you were innocent until proven guilty, they answer that with screaming. The sad part is most of us reading this will automatically revert to a partisan example, and certainly they are there, but it's not a partisan issue. We all love hearing bad things about the people we disagree with, we are all hypocrites because we don't apply the same measure to the people we support. I am telling you, if you are a Christian, pray for our leaders. 

So to sum it up, when I vote I think of all these things. There are certain issues that I can see as a problem regardless of the candidates party. I believe abortion to be genocide so that issue takes huge precedence with me. It defies more than one of the ten commandments, as we play God and murder children. I can't vote for socialism, and yes I am aware of social cooperatives that should be supported, like military, police and infrastructure. I won't vote for a socialist though who sees big government, programs and mob rule as a means to welfare for all people. You are lying, teaching people to covet and then stealing rather than encouraging freedom, production or individual rights. The majority can be wrong so I think our founding fathers wise for setting up the constitution. I also see the family as the logical building block of  a good state, that institution is well worth protecting to the interests of all. Those that run mostly on emotions and feelings will always look for another story or spin, but it's my prayer that we one day get to the point at which we vote based upon facts and research. All that aside, as important as I think it is to exercise your right to vote and influence your country for the good, as a Christian it is even more important that we share and live the gospel. Go out there everyday expecting people to have a different view than you, expecting the lost to be lost, sinners to sin, and then deny yourself, take up the cross and don't be so offended. Love them that hate you, even your enemies, bless and curse not.

Adultery Link

Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery

I think it's easy to see where this effects government. Holding that the law is for the lawless and that those who seek to serve their wives, be faithful to their husbands and honor God's law are herein released of the consequences. Please see the link above for a break down and I would encourage you to read the life of David. This is a pedestal for conservatives and now the left in some bazaar fashion, that a candidate is targeted for such indiscretions and deemed unfit for office upon discovery. I don't agree with adultery myself, but I have worked for adulterers who were good at their job. This is a sin that a man takes into himself, it hurts his family and there is where the governments judicial branch steps in. I expect the lost to act lost, for sinners to sin, and any good governance would note man's natural inclinations to such as well. There is a breech of contract here that needs to be addressed, that you have not forsaken all others nor been one with your spouse, but rather divided and unfaithful. This is a broken contract which moves the very religious act of marriage into the arena of government, especially in cases where there is no forgiveness and or humility from either party. Now you go through a divorce, and it must also be insured that those children who have come from this partnership are taken care of, that you honor that responsibility. Where there is abuse the law also has to step in, if someone is unwilling to support their children or is hurting their wife or husband, we need intervention.

I believe there should be laws that govern these affairs, but I don't agree that all of the law is carried out fairly. Some men complain about paying child support or that they wouldn't have to if she would have just got an abortion like you asked her to. How about not committing adultery or maybe taking precautions against unprotected sex. Again, I expect lost people to behave in such a manner but it doesn't mean you're not allowed to use common sense, why does someone else always have to pay for your indiscretions? I also don't agree with spouses who are willing that the other should be charged above their means. Forgiveness is still always a good thing. A judicial system that awards alimony based on the lifestyle to which a person has become accustomed is ridiculous. Being that you promised for better or worse, it is clear that your heart had no comprehension of worse. If I married a famous actress, who was extremely wealthy, well then that would be the wealth that she accumulated and that I couldn't on my own. If we dissolved the marriage, and I was not in the wrong, then I would hope to not be further inconvenienced or hurt by being left in the street, but I would in no way see it justifiable to insist that I receive a monthly salary that keeps me wealthy. Wealth is not guaranteed nor should be. 

As far as presidents go, I pray for all men in office, whether I voted for them or not. It is a sad thing that we hold them up like idols, and some thinking they can do no wrong, while others insist that because they have committed a wrong, that they are no longer capable of right. I pray for them because they are human beings, sinners like me and it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of an angry God. When it comes to the job, I look at their policies, and there are plenty of times that a man has had perceivably good moral character, as far as not cheating on his wife, yet has been pro-abortion, weak on the economy, socialist, and quick to war. The church should confront his behavior, should care for him and his family enough to pray, and let him know what God's word says. I don't, and correct me if I am wrong, see this as a reason to step them down from office. It is a horrible thing to do to your wife or husband, and family, and all sin is against God, but I don't think this is traitorous to the position, the job. You can still make my pizza if you do it well, fix my car, my teeth, and run the country, and though it hurts me to see you in such a way, I pray that you repent and turn to God for forgiveness. I think this is an area of church discipline that should not be put upon the state. You should step down as a pastor in such cases, a deacon or elder, where there is no repentance, and the church should judge inside the church. The president will not be above that at his place of worship, but in cases of consent concerning the laws of the state, he should not be held in more contempt than other men, for he is just a man or woman. 

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Matthew 5: 27-28

David was a king who actually loved God, wanted to serve God, but he held back some things to himself, things that he took too lightly, starting with his disregard of the law written to kings, this same David who wrote, Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against Thee. He accumulated wives which led to many a problem at home, he was unequally yoked in his marriages, he let lust reign, and to the point that when he saw a young woman bathing, he took her. He took her knowing she was another's wife, and then he tried to cover it up, he was dishonest and then a murderer. It caused his kingdom problems too, because he was now in bed with the corrupt as well, those who knew, but only cared about power. He set a poor example, but God did not exact death from David or Bathsheba, but He took their son. His sons were also like him which led to the rape of his daughter by one of his sons, and the death of two more sons. He paid dearly, and it reflects also upon our relationship to God. We are unfaithful, either pretending that God doesn't exist, and our conscience, feelings and emotions are all that need satisfied, or we say we know Him and don't live truthfully. I would prefer that those who rule do justly in their house and the white house, but when they do fall we should confront them, help them get up again and pray for those who have rule. 

The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst 4 they said to him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery. 5 Now in the Law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?” 6 This they said to test him, that they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground. 7 And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 And once more he bent down and wrote on the ground. 9 But when they heard it, they went away one by one, beginning with the older ones, and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him. 10 Jesus stood up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” 11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.”]] John 8: 4-11

This has so played out in our day, when we actually think so light of the sin, yet under the dispensation of the law it was punishable by death. Knowing that to be the consequence people still died for what they didn't need to do. Now these men were under Roman law, meaning that Rome held the power of execution, and so here they have a trap for Jesus. If you are the Son of God, according to Your Father's laws to Moses, this woman needs to be stoned. Yet, where is the man? This is a sin of two people, so where is the other? No one here cared about God's law, they were merely going to parade this woman, and herein is the travesty of sin, it should make us all feel ashamed, but know, in order to be a witness against her, you must witness the act. Why parade around something that their should be no pride about? The law, the sacrifice, the blood of bulls and goats, was to teach you, that you are in that breech yourself, she is not standing here alone, and what does He write on the ground? Sometimes I think I know, I'm pretty sure, but then He gives them back the law, let he who is without sin among you cast the first stone. It says they left starting with the oldest, come on, I am not here for justice, otherwise I would have the man here as well. She is a pawn for us to do evil against this Jesus, and this says a lot for them, that they realize enough to walk away, and then the only One left who had actually kept the law, had honored His Father, even in His heart, He doesn't stone her. "Neither do I, and from now on sin no more." He forgives her, and don't be a fool and miss the end, he tells her to be free too, to repent. Be careful as you climb on your high horse, make sure you are saying what God says, and that it is in tears that you speak of judgment and of forgiveness. Want for others what you are not able to do for yourself. I would have mercy, please. 

Pray for those who have rule and for ourselves, that we have changed hearts. Wealth, power, fame and good looks are all strong tempters of the ego, and I have most graciously been blessed with the peace that comes from having none of the above. I do think that it is more than I could ever handle, so I do know and believe that God must intervene in the heart lest we remain deceived. Though we live in this dispensation of grace let us not take lightly the sin for which our Savior had to suffer, but let us go out in the world not shocked or amazed either by it's presence, for we were called as light where light is needed.

#590 Imperium Part 4 of Government

You shall not murder

Violence

Please read the link above for a more in depth look at this commandment, I included a paper by John Calvin which is beyond my writing, and a wonderful read. Since the link goes from one angle I will try to keep the focus here on government. 

The Bible makes it clear that murder is a sin, unacceptable to God and that the wages of all sin is death, but this bears an earthly response from government, that they do not bear the sword in vain. Justice for murder is the murderer's life.

Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man his blood will be shed; for in His own image God has made mankind. Genesis 9:6

This is a most sobering and horrifying responsibility for those that govern. Some will be so horrified as to excuse themselves from the duty, as if they are kinder somehow than God or more wise. I will hear them out and agree that there have been a great number of times in history that men have been falsely accused, and where there is such doubt and lack of evidence, I do not find the death penalty a just measure. When it is clear that a man is a murderer, then this is what his actions have resigned him to. 

And if a man takes the life of anyone else, he must surely be put to death. 18 Whoever kills an animal must make restitution—life for life.…Leviticus 24:17

Life belongs to the Creator of life, not to inert matter or the ideas of whoever is in power at the time. Many have risen up by way of deceit and convinced others to follow them in the most atrocious acts. Some will disguise it under the banner of the cross, the hammer and sickle, science, but no matter what the terms or who the orator is that is speaking, it is a call to their religion and against someone else. 

Hitler was able to convince Germans that there were those that should be considered less deserving than the Aryan peoples. He worked hard at insuring the indoctrination of the youth through the state education system. If you focus people on a common enemy, attack and redistribute their resources, then you solve their economic crisis. He also practiced infanticide to control certain populations and the toll of Jews, Gypsies, Russians, mentally handicap, and Serbs was in the 10's of millions. Any leader that comes out wanting to eradicate people groups or whose feet are quick to war, let us not hold them up. They do not have that right.

Holocaust

Communist ideology can be studied and reviewed as a part of very recent history. Russian leaders like Stalin, Lenin, Chinese leadership, North Korea, Cuba and others have committed mass genocides in the name of state godhood. There is no God, Creator in their minds, so it rest with men to shape civilizations, the state decides right or wrong, ethnic cleansing, executions, work camps and starvation have taken their toll upwards to estimates of 80 to 110 million killed. I would say murdered but they don't believe in God so their is no fixed bar of His image. It is the end of and purist strain of Socialism, the enemy was whoever other than them was in power, whoever had resources that they want. The enemy was sound reason and argument against such as would desire power at any cost, who were promising rainbows and unicorns to everyone who would follow. Leaders should not devalue human life, they should be it's greatest defenders. This may require war, but war should not be the means to power or riches.

Abortion is no different than any other genocide, it says that you, who do not yet have a voice, do not get one. It invents an enemy of its own based somewhat in fact. A child is an enemy to irresponsibility, to freedom and independence, a life without consequences. A baby is a huge inconvenience, no argument from me there. The first time a girl told me she might be be pregnant, I reconsidered my opinion on abortion. "I mean a lot of people say its okay. I am young and have my whole life ahead of me, so does this girl, and really it's just not fair to me." So how do we make this work? The same way slave owners did, black people are not equal to white people, they are lower on the evolutionary scale. Their lives are not worth as much as my life, power or gain. "But I don't agree with that." Okay, then try this one, they are not human yet, not "viable", or as my neighbor puts it, they have no life experience. Think of them more like a cyst, a part of the woman's body like a lower set of tonsils, it's her body. "But if you take information from the father and combine it with that of the mother, it's different than both of them, making him or her an individual." Sort of, but like my neighbor says, there are too many humans on this planet anyway. I don't want a leader who thinks they have the right to decide who lives or dies based upon their ideals about population. When you kill someone outside of self defense or accident, then it is murder according to God. I don't want a leader who gives that as a right to one group over another. It does not devalue women, nor does it remove some inherent or perceived right to say that abortion is wrong, all it does is protect the sanctity of human life, that life that should be in its most protected and nourished place, its mother's womb. Abortion is more about sex, selfishness, and poor planning. Planned Parenthood is not about helping or planning families, it is about power, money and the destruction of our most innocent lives. It is a nod to those days of barbarism, sacrificing our children on the altar of human ego and sensuality. When you lift up idols you sacrifice sanity, reason and humanity. We disguise this aspect of it by saying it's "my body", but did you make it? What about women who are raped? Find the rapist and punish him, but did the baby rape you? "I had an abortion and it didn't bother me." Murderers kill all the time, Nazis did test on people, put them in gas chambers, and we can all be desensitized. Feelings and emotions, having or lack of, does not decide right or wrong. I would like a leader who would bring this out in the open, expose it for what it is, it's genocide, we are playing God.

#588 Govern Part 2

Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee: Be thou for the people to God-ward, that thou mayest bring the causes unto God:

20 And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do.

21 Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens: Exodus 18: 19-21 KJV

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. Matthew 5: 17 KJV

If you call yourself a Christian then you are supposedly a follower of Christ. Like Christ also made clear, let me be clear, this makes me a person of the Book, a follower of God's word and moral law. Christ did not abolish the law but fulfilled it. He did not lower God's moral bar, He did not justify sin, but rather sinners who are being saved from sin. It's not a multiple personality disorder, there is no call to duality, but rather Christ as the head and center of all things. There is not a church you and a politics you, a worldly you and a religious you. In fact, it's worse than you think, Jesus calls us to deny ourselves, take up our cross and come follow Him. Follow Him? What did He do?

Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. John 5: 19

He followed God's word, so much so and so perfectly because He was the Word become flesh to dwell among us. So lets look at the basic moral law, the ten commandments, and see what God is calling right and wrong. How do these commandments affect the way I live and vote?

You shall have no other gods before me

There is only one God, and all others are the invention of men, idols, not the Creator of the Universe. How does that effect my vote? I would rather vote for someone who actually fears God, not someone who puts them self up as a god. I would rather have someone who acknowledges that higher power, puts them self beneath that as directed by Holy Scripture, not pretending at being the moral high bar them self. In my opinion this also eliminates anyone who would want big government, refer to the state as the parent or father of the people. When you vote for such large structures, put your hopes in the ideal of government programs for everything,  then your hope rest in men, who are flawed. God chased them from Babel for good reason, and those who will not have God will find tyrants.

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images

Idolatry was a fairly common practice among the people of the OT time, and in the form of images that were made to look like angels, stars, animals or even mythical creatures of inventive imaginations. But don't deceive your self, men have become idols, success, and even religion that claims the God of the Bible to be it's source, has also made idols. So how could this possibly influence my vote? What do I take from this? Well, what if I made how someone said something more important than what they were saying? What if wealth was to me the greatest measure of good, the highest place I appealed to, that could be the cause for me to forsake justice and mercy. What if I put party, color of skin, social circles or personal vices above all else, are they not then idols to me as well? What if I put myself above all else, might I not then sacrifice others at the altar of my desires? Men who worship idols tend to justify that which protects such an image. 

You shall not take the name of the Lord God in vain

Vain also means empty, and this can apply several ways, but they are all ultimately the same, void of God's substance, essence, counsel or  any true reverence to the Lord's will or place. I do not want to vote for someone who denies God altogether, but it is even worse to claim God for votes when you really have no interest in Him. I have seen plenty of politicians invoke the name of God when it appears useful to them, read selective passages from Scripture when they think it benefits their argument. Men have carried the cross into battle, there is even a story in 1 Samuel 4 about Israel carrying the ark into battle, thinking this would somehow magically afford them victory, but the Philistines took it away.

Not everyone who says "Lord" will enter the kingdom of heaven, but those who do the will of my father. Many will come in God's name and Christ's name, but what is the fruit of their labor, what do their actions show? Many will also say love, charity, concern, well being, fare, equality and prosperity, but all they want is your vote, for you to give up your freedom and trust in them.

#587 Memshalah Rule, Dominion Part 1

Studying the Bible should be an exercise in changing me, not a prescription for argument or debate. It is poor timing if this is what brings us here, the chance to embarrass someone else, to lift up ourselves and it is with blind eyes and deaf ears that we are not ourselves humbled in the journey. I have found that there is nothing off limits to God's word and it will shape and change my mind on so many things, how I live, how I interact with others, how I vote and how I die. I was discussing politics with some of my friends and they asked that I write why I vote the way I vote, or how I see it as a Christian, and I said I would do it after I finished the Chronicles, because the last few books have had much about government. 

So first off, let me be clear, that as a Christian I don't believe God to be a Republican or a Democrat. God is Holy and there is no party that represents that, He is omniscient and we are at best seeking and learning, He is omnipotent and no matter how big a government may get, God is sovereign and infinitely so. Christian responsibility in voting requires that I vote not on where candidates are from, color of skin or party affiliation, but rather on the issues at hand. Reading the Bible and acknowledging God as the author and moral bar for good and decider of what is evil, affects the way I approach and decide on the issues. 

Okay, so let's go back to the time of the fall and start from there, that innocence is no longer a viable option, for it is lost. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. Romans 5:12-14

The reality of sin and death was in the world ever since the fall, and those that would cry unfair because it was in Adam that all die, feeling robbed of that opportunity to stand on their own, well keep in mind it is also in Christ work and death that we may live. Freedom from sin comes also by One, through Christ alone, not by your own works. Adam is the top of all the DNA in this world, the first man, father of all men, and so the degeneration of the line. It is helpful to understand this as we move forward with government, for all were made in them image of God, Adam is the father of all human beings, and even science is catching up to the Bible in this, showing that there is a common ancestor of all who are alive today. When we stand before each other, we are looking at each other, there is no lesser version of human life, we are all made in God's image and all belong to God. This is that truth which men stated early in our Republic that "all men are created equal." 

Now where there was no law, sin existed but was not called sin. Regardless of what we call a thing, we know when someone hits us that it hurts, when people take what we worked for or had in our lodging, it did not make us feel good. It says before the flood that the earth was filled with violence, and God does not here give the law, but shows His holy and just wrath against sin. Violence has long been a means to a wanted end. If I am bigger than you, stronger, sneakier or come with more force and technology then all can be mine. Violence and the fear of violence has been a great decider of who is in power among men since Cain became the first murderer. He got what he wanted, he avenged his ego. 

The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Genesis 6:11-13

So before Moses or the law written on tablets, God recognized what was sin and He hated it. Why is that? Why does it matter? Why did He decide certain things to be sin that men did not, for men without God even develop a kind of golden rule, or rules of consent. Men find order better than disorder, but their consciences are also able to be seared, damaged. 

For it is not the hearers of the Law who are righteous before God, but it is the doers of the Law who will be declared righteous. 14Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the Law, do by nature what the Law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the Law, 15since they show that the work of the Law is written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts either accusing or defending them.…Romans 2:13-15

When I use to say there was no God, literally hoping against hope that there was no God, I still liked for others to hold such a high moral standard, religiously. We all proclaim "right" or "wrong" and have an ideal of fare. "That's not fare," was one of the first full sentences my children could speak, right after the words "no" and "mine", often followed with a fist or pulled hair, they were monsters straight away. My way of describing these things then was a need for rule of law, and that we were ever developing or "evolving" as a race, you know, it takes a village to raise a child and all that stuff. I held the ideal that those that govern should be "good", whatever that is, and that they should do what's "best" for society, whatever that was. Problems:

Numero uno, whether I wanted to acknowledge the Bible's reason or not, it seemed that all men were flawed and could easily make wrong decisions that would negatively affect others. Their innate ideals of right and wrong could also be flawed or affected by other competing forces towards change, ie greed, power or bad information. 

Next, even if you found someone who was not as prone to ignorance, greed, violence or pride, he may not remain the rule. In a monarchy you could have the meekest king, who was then followed by the most arrogant son. In a socialist country you could have a wonderful fairy tale of an idea that gives way to a corporate tyranny. Unchecked capitalist would sell their mother for a better position in the market. Anarchy has no order and the hope of human goodness in any of these will just allow the bully to reign. You are ever just inches away from collapse, a new generation, an ideal.

Men as the moral high bar, what could go wrong? We sit down and decide what is good for all of us or at least the many. Society decides good and bad, right or wrong.

As listed above, men are all flawed in that they do not know every outcome or have all knowledge.

Human Depravity, all men are capable of doing what the Bible would refer to as evil whether they call it that or not. So where we may decide as a majority that a thing is good or right, those that are opposed are wrong based on being the minority. "Fare" because that's how the majority decided we play the game. 

Cannot be an absolute moral standard if there is no Creator. Rule of law comes down to rule of power, who has the biggest guns, greatest technology. They that are able to control will be able to rule. 

If society or culture decides right or wrong, then are those who differ from us in another society right or wrong? Is the dictator who starves his people right? Is the cartel who buys politicians and kills people for money right? Or is that just right for their society? Nazi society decided it was okay to kill Jews, take what they have and redistribute it to other Germans. Slave owners decided that calling people less than human, sub human or lower on the caste, made for some great free labor, advancing the society of plantation owners, allowing them to become big, rich -and powerful. 

While societies can make progress in a direction that seems to allow for the betterment of more peoples, the same societies can select groups to go against. The same mouth that can speak good for one may also dictate evil for others. We are ever only a generation or less away from change, and it may not work out so well for you or yours next time around. 

God let the whole earth know His stance against sin during the flood, against human pride, delusion and tyranny at Babel. He made a covenant with Abraham, reaching out to him from among all the peoples of the earth, and he spared his relative Lot when He showed His righteous judgment against Sodom and Gomorrah. We still haven't seen the law, but we have seen that God is just and that He has passed judgment on sin. I could see the vanity of men even when I wanted to be an atheist, but this question I had for God, why? Why do you hate sin and call these things sin? Why do you care? This is a harder question, because you can see human depravity, you can see death, disease, the supposed results of sin. You can see men strike, kill, belittle and hate other men. You can see men violate other people's space, break into homes where people just want to be left alone, at peace. You can see men violate the space of women, and we have come to call it rape. You can see men kill babies and we have come to call that a woman's choice,and the last doesn't even bother you, society has spoken, culture has deemed this okay.

For thus says the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, "I dwell on a high and holy place, And also with the contrite and lowly of spirit In order to revive the spirit of the lowly And to revive the heart of the contrite. Isaiah 57: 15

Lord, are you not from everlasting?

My God, my Holy One, you[c] will never die.

You, Lord, have appointed them to execute judgment;

you, my Rock, have ordained them to punish.

13 Your eyes are too pure to look on evil;

you cannot tolerate wrongdoing.

Why then do you tolerate the treacherous?

When Moses came down from Mount Sinai, with  the two tablets of the testimony in his hand as he came down from the mountain, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God.4 30 Aaron and all the people of Israel saw Moses, and behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him. For the Lord spoke thus to me with his strong hand upon me, and warned me not to walk in the way of this people, saying: 12 “Do not call conspiracy all that this people calls conspiracy, and do not fear what they fear, nor be in dread. 13 But the Lord of hosts, him you shall honor as holy. Let him be your fear, and let him be your dread. 14 And he will become a sanctuary and a stone of offense and a rock of stumbling to both houses of Israel, a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 15 And many shall stumble on it. They shall fall and be broken; they shall be snared and taken.” Isaiah 8: 11-15

Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. Hebrews 12: 4

Why does God hate sin? It is an issue of His very essence. He is Holy, HOLY, Holy. I won't even pretend to wrap my head around something like that. For if You are the inventor of the finite, the Creator, then that means You exist outside of the finite. If you are infinite and You are Holy then You are infinitely so. Me asking is like darkness asking light, "please come close to me but don't send me away." There are some things that belong to our ignorance, but everything else is arrogance. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. I will stop here and tomorrow continue with the law, breaking down the issues and the reasons.
